Ticeson earns conference accolades after a strong senior campaign

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - MEAC officials announced Thursday the selections for the All-MEAC Volleyball Team. The LadyCats find themselves with a player honored All-Conference for the second consecutive season. Middle Blocker Chelle Ticeson earned her second set of accolades from the MEAC, named to the second team for her performance in the 2009 season. The senior from Seattle, Wash. finished the season with 231 kills (2.75 kills/set) on a .376 hitting percentage, 33 service aces, 58 digs, and 59 total blocks.

The MEAC coaches and sports information directors named Florida A&M's Jovana Blazeski as Player of the Year, University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Bella Jade Romero earned Rookie of the Year, while Lady Hawks Head Coach Don Metil was named Coach of the Year for the 2009 season.

The LadyCats set off the MEAC Volleyball Championships this weekend, beginning at 10 a.m. Friday-Sunday, November 20-22 in the Coppin Center at Coppin State University. Bethune-Cookman (Southern Division second seed) faces off against Morgan State (Northern Division third seed) begins on Friday, November 20 at 10 a.m.
