Oct. 16, 2006 Virginia Beach, Va. - Freshman middle blocker Chelle Ticeson has been selected as this week's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week for volleyball as released earlier today from the MEAC home office in Virginia Beach, Va. Ticeson was instrumental in helping the Wildcats go 3-3 over the weekend at the MEAC Round-Up in Orangeburg, S.C. Ticeson, a 6-foot middle blocker from Seattle, Wash., led the squad in kills through four matches in the Round-Up. She registered a season-high 16 kills and tied a season-high six blocks against Delaware State while collecting a .333 hitting percentage. Ticeson also collected 15 and six blocks against Morgan State. Defensively, Ticeson picked up 13 digs and 22 total blocks in six matches. This is the first time this season that Ticeson has been named as MEAC Rookie of the Week.
