Talisha Black; Post-Graduate Scholar RecipientTalisha Black, a former LadyCat volleyball player, and 2008 Bethune- Cookman University graduate, has proved that hard work and dedication on the court and in the classroom is the recipe for future success. Black now spends most of her days studying after being granted an academic scholarship to New York University in the medical post-graduate program. Black graduated from Bethune-Cookman University with a major in sociology. She is now a pre-medicine major. [+] 11/24/09
Johnson Named to MEAC All-Tournament TeamThe LadyCats of Bethune-Cookman Volleyball were eliminated from the 2009 MEAC Volleyball Championships, Saturday at the Coppin Center, falling to runner-up Maryland Eastern Shore. Although B-CU made an early exit, they fought hard and made it a difficult task to take them out. The effort and talent caught the eye of MEAC officials and coaches, as they named B-CU junior Middle Blocker Kaiyana Johnson to the All-Tournament team. [+] 11/21/09
B-CU Volleyball Falls to UMES at MEAC Championships, 3-0The LadyCats of Bethune-Cookman Volleyball ran up against quite a challenge early Saturday afternoon at the MEAC Volleyball Championships, as they faced off with Maryland Eastern Shore. The MEAC Northern Division's top team put B-CU away in a convincing effort, winning 3-0, but although the Hawks dispatched the LadyCats quickly in the opening set, they didn't go away and battled it out in the remaining two sets before falling in scores of 25-10, 25-21, and 25-20 [+] 11/20/09
LadyCats Defeat Morgan State, 3-1; Advance in MEAC Volleyball ChampionshipsThe LadyCats of Bethune-Cookman Volleyball came out on top today at the Coppin Center, facing Morgan State in the first round of the MEAC Volleyball Championships. The Lady Bears of Morgan State gave the LadyCats several tight games, but B-CU came out with the win, 3-1, winning in scores of 30-28, 25-18 (L), 25-20, and 25-17. [+] 11/19/09
Ticeson Named to All-MEAC Second Team: Volleyball Faces Morgan State FridayMEAC officials announced Thursday the selections for the All-MEAC Volleyball Team. The LadyCats find themselves with a player honored All-Conference for the second consecutive season. Middle Blocker Chelle Ticeson earned her second set of accolades from the MEAC, named to the second team for her performance in the 2009 season. The senior from Seattle, Wash. finished the season with 231 kills (2.75 kills/set) on a .376 hitting percentage, 33 service aces, 58 digs, and 59 total blocks. [+]
