B-CU Lady Wildcats Open 2010 Spring Tennis Season Sunday, 12 Noon

The Bethune-Cookman University women's tennis team opens its spring schedule this weekend (Jan. 24), competing against Florida Gulf Coast University at the City Island Tennis Center in Daytona Beach, FL at 12 Noon.

The Lady Wildcats are returning the fall season’s entire lineup on the 2010 team. The ladies have been gearing up for another successful season led by head coach Trey Bogue and graduate assistant coach Thabani Sithole.

Bogue is in his ninth season at Bethune-Cookman University and won his milestone 200th college career match last season. He was named Women’s MEAC Coach of the Year and MEAC Men’s Co-Coach of the Year in 2009.

The Lady Wildcats will look in the direction of seniors and captains Eva Hankova and Jeneice Ward for guidance and leadership this season. Hankova, was named to the All-MEAC second team in the 2008-2009 season, while captain Jeneice Ward has been a part of the B-CU tennis team four years and continues to offer her contributions to the team.

After this weekend's action, the tennis program will turn its attention to the men’s spring season opener Tuesday, January 26, in Deland against Stetson University.
