Personal: The daughter of Garland and Patricia Owens... Says she chose Bethune-Cookman because, "it's my favorite HBCU, and it's in Florida, where it's always hot."...Volunteered as an outreach poll worker for the 2004 election...She's set an athletic goal at B-CU, to make it to the NCAA Tournament...Owens cites her father as her biggest influence because he is influential and encouraging...Outside of athletics, she received an African-American Achievement and Scholar-Athlete Who's Who awards...Maintained a 3.25 GPA in high school...Owens is majoring in Sociology, with a minor in Business, and would like to start her own clothing line.
