Demetria Frank Claims B-CU Career Steals RecordThere is a new steals leader in the Bethune-Cookman history books, but Demetria Frank is not wrapping up her career just yet. Frank has been a force on the defensive side of the ball her entire career for the Lady Wildcats, starting as a freshman at guard, and wrapping up last season in second for all NCAA Division I players. At the South Carolina State, January 30, at Moore Gymnasium, Frank extended her career steals total to 251, breaking the record previously held by Erma Jones. Lady Wildcats Roll Over Winston-Salem State, 74-40The Lady Wildcats came up with a big win tonight in round two of their 2009-10 games at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center. The Lady Wildcats were simply too much for the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State, running away with the victory, 74-40. The win also makes the current tally three in a row. [+] 1/30/10
Lady Wildcats Lead Wire to Wire in Victory Over SCSUThe Lady Wildcats secured consecutive conference victories on Saturday night, as the Lady Bulldogs of South Carolina State visited Moore Gymnasium. The Lady Wildcats got off to a quick start, pushing out to an early double-digit lead. Opening the game, B-CU shot 52 percent from field goal range and 79 percent from the free throw line, while holding SCSU to just 31 percent. The Lady Wildcats made it 16 points by halftime and didn't let up in the second half, holding off a late SCSU rally to win the game 71-64. [+] 1/29/10
South Carolina State At Moore Gymnasium Saturday in MEAC Basketball - YOUTH DAY GAMES vs. SCSUThe MEAC men's and women's home basketball schedule continues this Saturday at Moore Gymnasium with South Carolina State playing Bethune-Cookman. Youth Day highlights the Saturday games - 2 p.m. women's game and 4 p.m. start for the men. Lady Wildcats Grab Late Lead and Hold on to Defeat HowardThe Lady Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman Women's Basketball continued their first MEAC road weekend, Monday evening, at Howard University. B-CU faced a knock-down battle with the Lady Bison, as the lead changed hands nine times before the Lady Wildcats grabbed the final advantage with just over one minute remaining and held Howard off to preserve the win, 48-47.
