Coach Jenkins' First Recruiting Class Signs 20
 
New B-CU Head Football Coach Brian Jenkins hit the ground running in his first month since being named head coach December 21. The NCAA National Football Signing Day was Wednesday, February 3 and Coach Jenkins invited the B-CU community to come and celebrate the 20 new recruits and his new coaching staff.

Bethune-Cookman University named Brian Jenkins, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida native and last year an assistant coach at Rutgers, the 10th Head Football Coach in B-CU's 85 seasons of football.

Thre B-CU football players were named on the All-MEAC Conference teams announced by the conference this week. Seniors DT Dexter Jackson and CB Antwuan Cox were named to the first-team defensive honor squad. Sophomore RV Reggie Sandilands was named to the second team All-MEAC defensive squad. [+]

FAMU Overwhelms B-CU 42-6 To Win 30th Florida Classic
Orlando, Florida - The Rattlers of Florida A & M overwhelmed B-CU's Wildcats at the Citrus Bowl Saturday to win the 30th Florida Classic 42-6. FAMU jumped out to an early lead and led 28-0 at halftime and never looked back to beat the Wildcats for the second straight year in Orlando. FAMU keeps its NCAA playoff hopes alive with the win. The selection show is tomorrow (Sunday, November 22) with the 16-team NCAA FCS field being announced. B-CU's season ends 5-6, 4-4 in the MEAC. The `Cats won five of their final seven games following an 0-4 start. "We were just overmatched tonight," said B-CU Head Football Coach Alvin Wyatt. "We didn't get off to the fast start offensively that we needed to do. Their offense was scoring points and you have to score points against them." [+]

Wildcats Win At Howard 21-10 - Now 5-5 On The Season
Washington, D.C. Defensive stands in the fourth quarter and early offense in the first half led the Wildcats to a 21-10 win at Howard Saturday. B-CU evens its 2009 season record at 5-5, winning for the fifth time in six games and the `Cats are now 4-3 in MEAC play entering the season finale next Saturday vs. FAMU in the Florida Classic.
