ABOUT COLEMAN: An ideal point guard for the Wildcats for the 2006-07 season ... A well-respected point guard that led the nation in assists just two years ago at Mercer University ... Is expected to be the starting point guard for the `Cats after sitting out the first semester due to transfer rules ... A very sure-handed player that sees the court exceptionally well ... Looks to get the other players on the court involved in all facets of the game with his passing game and court awareness ... Will look to push the ball whenever possible, but runs the floor with a smoothness similar to Brandon Edwards and other great point guards of the past for Bethune-Cookman ... Does not get rattled with pressure defense, but rather plays aggressive towards the press to get through with great ballhandling ability and skill ... Will look to start at point guard in the second half of the season for B-CC.

PREP / HIGH SCHOOL & PERSONAL: Born to the world in his hometown of Key West, Fla. to parents Nadine Johnson and Ulyea Coleman ... Both of his parents attended UCF ... In high school, Coleman helped his team to a 27-3 record and the State Championship Runner-Up title ... Named All-State First Team, as well as All-County and All-Region First Team ... Played for head coach Bill Butler ... In 2004-05, he led the nation in assists at Mercer ... Helped his junior college (St. Petersburg) to a Co-Conference Regular Season title in 2003-04 for coach Earnest Crumbley, father of former B-CC player Kory Crumbley ... Wants to have his own business when he graduates from college ... Favorite movie is New Jack City ... Favorite musical artist is Tupac Shakur ... Lists his favorite athlete as Dominique Coleman.
