Coach Mervyl Melendez' team had a 3.17 team cumulative GPA for the semester. "I am proud of our guys and we want to excel in everything we do both in the class room and on the field," said Coach Melendez. "It shows our character and hard work that we put into academics. And it sets the tone for success in everything we do." The overall team GPA cumulative for 35 B-CU baseball players is now 3.09 entering the 2010 Spring Semester. 'Cats Open 2010 Baseball Season February 19-21 At MLB Classic In California B-CU opens its 2010 baseball season next month competing in the Major League Baseball Urban Classic for the third straight year in Compton, California. The Wildcats play Cal State Northridge, UCLA, and fellow HBCU opponent Southern University at the 2010 MLB Classic February 19-21. The Wildcats have won four consecutive MEAC Championships and nine of the last 10 MEAC championships and NCAA regional bids under Coach Melendez who is in his 11th season as head coach, earning his milestone 300th career win last April at UMES.
