Come From Behind Win Over VCU 10-6 To Open B-CU Invitational
B-CU won for the fourth straight time at home Saturday afternoon with a come-from-behind 10-6 win over Virginia Commonwealth University. The win over VCU (9-4) opened the B-CU Invitational Tournament at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Home runs by Emmanuel Castro and Ryan Durrence keyed the come back and pitchers Ali Simpson, Chris Anselmo and Juan Perez shut down the Rams after a rocky start. Friday's B-CU Invitational was rained out and a new schedule has been set for Saturday's games at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. There will be three games played on Saturday with the opener being a 12 noon matchup vs. B-CU and Virginia Commonwealth University of the CAA (Colonial Athletic Association). B-CU won its third straight home game at Jackie Robinson Ballpark with a 10-0 shutout win over Wagner College Wednesday night. Junior LHP Roman Lancaro pitched eight solid innings allowing five hits and striking our six to even his 2010 record at 1-1. B-CU won its third straight home game of the 2010 season at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, leading Wagner College 10-0 into the seventh inning. Junior LHP Roman Lancara pitched eight shut out innings striking out five and allowing five hits to even his pitching record at 1-1 this season.
