The Wildcats wrapped up competition at the Clemson Invitational with several top finishes

Leading the way for the men, Marcell Keeling topped the field in the 500m Dash, crossing the line with a time of 1:05.54 to finish third. Also in the event, Demetrius Douglas-Davis came in seventh in 1:13.37.


 

 

On top for the women, Alexandria Condell came in third in the 800m Run in a time of 2:28.34. B-CU newcomer Asia Henry finished sixth in the same race, crossing at 2:30.97.

In the men's 800m, William Cosby led the middle distance runners, taking fourth, and finishing in a time of 2:00.23. Tavares Harris finished tenth at 2:05.98.

Eric Cray placed fourth as well, in the 300m Dash, crossing the finish line at 35.90, while Chris Jackson came in eighth at 36.45.

Also placing high for the men, the 4 x 400m relay (composed of Chris Jackson, Eric Cray, William Cosby, and Marcell Keeling) came in third in a time of 3:22.69, just a mere .13 seconds behind second-place Jackson State.

In the 400m Dash, Demetrius Douglas-Davis finished sixth (58.82), while Robert Horton came in seventh at 54.99.

In the men's field events for the day, Kenson Nicholas finished seventh in the Long Jump, leaping a distance of 6.49m (21-03.50 ft.).

On the women's side, Ron Danielle Williams finished fifth in the Weight Throw, with a distance of 12.93m (42-05.25 ft.). In sixth in the same event, Maketa Ruffin threw a distance of 11.35m (37-03.00 ft.).

In the women's 500m, LaShondra Wilbon finished sixth in a time of 1:21.54. Also in the 500m, Crystal Bardge crossed the line in ninth, turning in a time of 1:26.61. Wilbon also finished in the top ten of the 400m Dash, coming in eighth at 1:00.04.

The women's 4 x 400m relay (made up of LaShondra Wilbon, Tanekia Flowers, Asia Henry, and Alexandria Condell) came in seventh overall with a time of 4:17.47.

The Wildcats return to campus, having seen some success as they prepare for the next competition. They are off for the next week, but head out to Johnson City, Tenn. to test their skills at the ETSU Niswonger Invitational, Jan. 22-23.
